1 Day - Emergency First Aid at Work

The accredited First Aid Course we offer at VIDA. This course helps you meet the requirements set out in the Health and Safety regulations of 1981.

The course will be tailored to your line of work, the EFAW course is typically for low-risk environments such as offices, hospitality, retail, education, beauty, ​sports professionals, home carers, shops and for businesses who already have first aiders trained in the three day First Aid at Work.

Also private individuals are welcome to book a course.

The course is delivered under the guidance of our specialist First Aid at Work trainers and uses the latest training techniques to maximise learner recall and confidence.

Duration: Approximately 6 Hours (1 Day)

Certification: On completion of the course learners receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate valid for 3 years, and meets HSE requirements

Assessment: Learners are continuously assessed by our instructor throughout the course

Course content includes:

  • Understand the Role of a First Aider

  • Priorities of treatment & consent to treat First Aid

  • Recovery position

  • Administer first aid to an adult casualty who is unconscious

  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation to an adult (CPR)

  • Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Heart attack 

  • Describe how to recognize and treat Bleeding and minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters, nose bleed)
